Neverending Neon

Pegasus in Lights Again!

Reality show fans may recall American Chopper featuring Paul Teutul and Paul Teutul Jr. Their creativity and family dynamics drew in as many as 4,000,000 viewers weekly, and the show is widely credited as stoking the motorcycle mania of the 1960s and 1970s in a whole new generation.

Paul Jr. founded his own shop, Paul Jr. Designs, in 2010, featuring motorcycles built in-house, ground-up custom motorcycles, and — keeping with the times — the soon to be available PJD-E Bike.

He recently engaged Mark to restore a classic neon sign, that of Pegasus, the flying red horse, logo for Magnolia Petroleum Company which became Mobil Oil.

Below, Mark visits Paul Jr. at his vintage sign collection in Long Beach Island, New Jersey to chat about the result. Click on ► to play.
